A 35-year-old husband of a pub employee was shot dead Wednesday by an unidentified man near a Delhi Metro station here, police said.
Mohammad Shakeel of Khajuri Khas in northeast Delhi was killed near the IFFCO Chowk station.
His wife Reshma, one of her women colleagues and Shakeel's cousin were with him when the incident took place.
The two women work in a pub at a mall on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road and were returning to Delhi around 3 a.m. with the men.
The four were intercepted by a police vehicle on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. After checking their identities, they were dropped at IFFCO Chowk, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dalbir Singh told IANS.
The four then walked towards the metro station when Shakeel was shot in his chest from close range by a man standing there, Dalbir Singh said.
