Man tries to kill himself, wife, children in Rajasthan

A man tried to commit suicide by drinking insecticide as well as kill his wife and four children by forcing them to drink it too Saturday, police said.

He was identified as Ramlal Gurjar of Kanota village near here.

They were admitted in two hospitals. Two of the children were said to be in a serious condition, while the others were still not in a condition to give statements, Chandra Prakash, station house officer of Kanota police station, told IANS.

He said a preliminary probe indicated a fight between two families over a property.

After the fight, Ramlal reached his children's school at 11 a.m. and after asking for their early leave, brought them back home. He asked his family members to drink something saying it was medicine.

The condition of the family members started to deteriorate soon after drinking the liquid.

Police came to know about the incident Saturday afternoon and admitted them to hospital.

The reason behind Ramlal's act will only be known after the family members say something, police said.
