Man trying to smuggle gold in rectum held

A man was nabbed at the airport here Saturday for allegedly trying to smuggle 600 gram gold worth Rs.16 lakh into India in his rectum, police said.

Chennai inhabitant Syed M. Sajirullah came from Dhaka Friday night and was detained after a scanner at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose international Airport indicated he was carrying some metal in his rectum.

He was arrested in the morning after the gold dropped from his rectum when he defecated.
