Manchester United drew with Bayern Munich 1-1 in their first leg of the European Champions League quarterfinals at Old Trafford Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
Nemanja Vidic put Manchester United ahead in the 58th minute as he headed in a Wayne Rooney corner.
But the visitors levelled the score only nine minutes later. Bastian Schweinsteiger was found by a fine header from substitute Mario Mandzukic and the Germany international midfielder drove the ball into the top corner with his left foot.
Schweinsteiger was sent off two minutes before the time after being shown a second yellow card for bringing down Rooney. He will miss the second leg match next week.
