Mandy Moore became a Golden Globe nominee for her role in TV show "This Is Us", and the actress says she is yet to get used to that title.

When she was addressed as Golden Globe nominee during an interview by ew.com, the actress said: "That's so bizarre to hear."

She landed in the final five for Best Supporting Actress In A Series, Limited Series, or Motion Picture Made For Television for her work in the hit show, which is aired in India on Star World Premiere HD.

The nominations for Golden Globes 2017 were announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) here on Monday.

She was awake when her named was called, but not because of the announcement.

"My boyfriend (Dawes lead singer Taylor Goldsmith) was getting ready to go to the airport so he was up around 5.15 and I just woke up with him and my phone lit up shortly thereafter. I was like, 'Oh, yeah, the Golden Globe nominations', but I certainly was not expecting to be recognised for the show," she said.

Moore learned about nomination via text from Milo Ventimiglia, who plays the role of her onscreen husband in the show.

She said: "Milo (Ventimiglia) was actually the one who texted me and was like, 'Congratulations, Mandy!' I was like, 'Wait, on what? The show got nominated?' He's like, 'No, you did!'

"My jaw was definitely on the ground and I just started shaking. I've never been nominated for anything in my life. I feel like I'm on another planet right now. It's so exciting, but I'm most excited about the show getting nominated."

Moore is up against Olivia Colman from "The Night Manager", Lena Headey from "Game of Thrones", Thandie Newton from "Westworld", and her own co-star Chrissy Metz.

The 74th annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, will be held on January 8 next year.
