Manish Malhotra praises Shabana for promoting handlooms

Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra has lauded veteran actress Shabana Azmi for her regular use of Indian textiles and handlooms.

Shabana is seen promoting handloom ensembles in most of her public appearances.

"@LakmeFashionWk for years @AzmiShabana has glamourized Indian textiles and handlooms and continues to do so," Malhotra shared on Twitter.

Shabana then took the opportunity to thank the designer and tweeted: "@ManishMalhotra @LakmeFashionWk thanks Manish. We must work with Mubarakpur weavers who have slipped into oblivion. Huge potential there."

Earlier this year, Malhotra designed creations for a show organised in support of the actress-activist's NGO Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS). Eery year, Shabana conducts the fashion show to collect money for the skilled villagers of Mijwan who do exquisite work on clothes.
