Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn says nowadays acting is more about fame than anything else.
The 54-year-old, who is currently romancing actress Charlize Theron, said in a statement: "Many actors today work for fame and have completely ignored their craft. Working in films today is more about earning a reputation than anything to do with acting."
The star is currently gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film "The Gunman".
Slated for March 20 release, the Pierre Morel directorial is about a former Special Forces soldier and military contractor suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder who tries to reconnect with his longtime love but first must go on the run across Europe in order to clear his name.
The story is based on the novel "The Prone Gunman" by Jean-Patrick Manchette.
