Real Madrid's Brazilian defender Marcelo Vieira, who was not able to continue playing in Saturday's clash against Barcelona due to a left hamstring injury, will be absent, as will Sergio Ramos, from the match against Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Marcelo and Ramos trained on Monday morning at the indoor facilities at the sports city of Real Madrid. Afterwards Marcelo underwent a series of medical examinations at the University Hospital of Sanitas La Moraleja, which detected his injury, reports Efe.
Ramos will be given several days to rest to heal the problem in his shoulder and avoid surgery.
Defender Alvaro Arbeloa, who on Monday trained with his teammates, will not travel to Ukraine either.
The squad for Wednesday's match includes:
Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Casilla and Ruben Yanez
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Nacho, Carvajal and Danilo
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Bale, Casemiro, Kovacic, Modric, Cheryshev and Isco
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Lucas Vazquez and Jese.
