Maruti's 'Wagon R' sales crosses 15 lakh units

Passenger car market leader Maruti Suzuki Tuesday said that sales of its Wagon R compact hatchback have crossed 15 lakh units.

Launched in 2000, Wagon R has been amongst India's top five best-selling brands. The company has sold around 156,300 units of Wagon R in 2013-14. In the current year, Wagon R sales have already exceeded 93,000 units.

Powered by a 998 cc K-series engine, Wagon R offers power of 68PS at the rate of 6,200 rpm and a torque of 90 Nm with a mileage of 20.5 kms per litre in petrol and 26.6 km per kg in the CNG variant.
