Mauritius President Bibi Ameenah Firedous Gurib-Fakim on Tuesday visited Golcona Fort and Nizam's palaces here.
Arriving in the southern city on a two-day visit, she was received at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by Telangana Information Technology Minister K.Taraka Rama Rao and senior officials.
Gurib-Fakim drove straight to Taj Falaknuma, where she will be staying for two days. The first woman president of Mauritius was impressed with the magnificent palace, which has been converted into a star hotel.
The dignitary later visited historic Golconda Fort. The officials took her around the fort and briefed her about its history and importance.
She also visited Chowmahalla Palace, where she met Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E. S. L. Narasimhana. She also went around the palace and saw the exhibits related to the Nizams, the rulers of erstwhile Hyderabad State.
Gurib-Fakim will visit Charminar and Salarjung Museum on Wednesday.
