If sources are to be believed, singer Max George of The Wanted band recently raced out to save a young boy from drowning.
The singer was enjoying a day at the beach in Santa Monica, California, with two friends Monday afternoon. They were splashing around in the water, about 100 feet from the shore, when they saw a boy seemingly losing his battle with a riptide.
According to a source, George reacted instantly, swimming to the boy's rescue and getting him safely back to shore, holding him up above the water all the way before a lifeguard took over and attended to the youngster, reports eonline.com.
"The waves at Santa Monica are gruesome sometimes!" George tweeted.
