Singer Max George is reportedly devastated as he was unable to meet his grandfather before he died.

The 25-year-old left The Wanted's world tour almost a week back to be with his family after he learnt that the condition of his grandfather David George, 77, had worsened, reports mirror.co.uk.

"Max is incredibly close to his family. He was distraught at not getting home before his grandfather died," a source said.

Max left for home during the US leg of the band's tour to be with his family.
