Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday greeted the people on the occasion of Guru Purnima.
"Guru Purnima greetings to everyone. Ours is a society that holds teachers in very high esteem. We thank our teachers, who always inspire and bring out the best in us," Modi tweeted.
Congress President also took to twitter and said, "Greetings to my fellow countrymen on the occasion of Guru Purnima."
Guru Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of Ashadha of the Shakha Samavat in the Hindu calendar followed by Buddhists, Jains, and Hindus.
