Croatia and Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric limped off injured after playing just 26 minutes in the Euro 2016 qualifying match against Italy played at Milan's San Siro stadium.
Modric was holding his left quadriceps muscle with the painful grimace on his face as he limped off Sunday, reports Xinhua.
Tests in the coming days will tell how seriously injured the Croatian star is.
It is fortunate for Croatian coach Niko Kovac that the match against Italy was the last that his team had to play in 2014.
He will not need Modric's services up until March 28 next year when Croatia host Norway in the fifth round of Euro 2016 qualifying.
