Cuban athlete Richer Perez won the 18th edition of Havana's half marathon, known as Marabana, and dedicated his victory to his compatriots.
Perez, 28, finished the half marathon in an hour, 10 minutes and two seconds, ahead of his compatriots Henry Jaen (1:10.49) and Lioyan Torres (1:11.09) Sunday, reports Xinhua.
The Cuban athlete said he felt very well during the race, which was part of the training for his participation in the Central American and Caribbean Games currently held in Mexico's Veracruz state, where he will take part in the marathon category.
In the women's category, the winner was Cuban Yailen Garcia with a time of 1:20.52.
