European football governing body UEFA has fined Moldova 15,000 euros ($16,566) and ordered the partial closure of its stadium due to the behaviour of its fans during its Euro 2016 qualifying tie against Russia.

The Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) of the UEFA on Friday announced in a statement that the penalty was imposed due to "crowd disturbances", "racist flags" and "setting off fireworks" during the European qualifiers match held on October 9, Efe reported.

Moldova lost 1-2 against Russia.
