After losing the 2026 World Cup bid, Morocco announced on Thursday that it will present a new bid to host the 2030 edition.
"Under high instructions from King Mohammed VI, Morocco will officially present its bid to the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to host the 2030 World Cup," the Moroccan Youth and Sports Minister Rachid Talbi Alami told the Moroccan official news agency MAP, reports Xinhua news agency.
Alami said the Moroccan government is committed to fully implement the projects presented as part of its 2026 bid.
This will be Morocco's sixth bid after 1994, 1998, 2006, 2010 and 2026 editions of the World Cup.
Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina have already confirmed they will present a joint bid for hosting the 2030 World Cup.
The United States, Canada and Mexico won their joint bid to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the 68th FIFA Congress held in Moscow on Wednesday.
