The Madhya Pradesh assembly will convene on August 24 to consider the Constitution (122nd Amendment) (Goods and Services Tax) Bill, an official said.
Principal Secretary of the state assembly A.P. Singh said on Saturday that the legislature will meet to consider the GST Bill on August 24 in continuation of the monsoon session last month since the assembly has not yet been prorogued.
The assembly will exclusively deal with the GST Bill in its August 24 sitting with no other business scheduled, he said.
The bill has been passed by the two chambers of parliament and now needs to be passed by at least 15 of the 29 state assemblies to become law.
Assam has already ratified the GST Bill and became the first state to do so.
