Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday said the state teachers will get the benefits of the sixth pay commission starting January, 2016.

Earlier, the hike was scheduled for January, 2017.

Over 84,000 people will be benefited under the new pay commission, the chief minister said, adding the cost to the government would be Rs. 1,125 crore per annum.

Chouhan said he would not let the teachers suffer a financial crunch as they play a very important role in shaping the future of children.
