Two brothers who allegedly ordered the murder of a man who was said to have illicit relations with their sister have been arrested, police said on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police Akash Kumar said the victim's body was found on July 7 in a drain in Harsh Vihar. Nobody then knew who he was -- and why he was murdered.
Police investigations revealed the man regularly visited a woman who had separated from her husband in 2007.
On July 7, the victim was drunk when he reached the woman's house. When her brothers, Jai Kumar and Neeraj, confronted him, he said he wanted to meet their sister Meenu, who said she did not know him.
The brothers then summoned a thug and together beat the man to death. When he died, his body was thrown into a drain.
"Jai Kumar and Neeraj have been arrested and a hunt is on for the muscleman," Tomar said.
