Filmmaker Dharmesh Darshan, whose Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor starrer "Raja Hindustani" recently completed 20 years of its release, says his films and their music were ahead of their time.

Does the director, who has mostly made romantic films, feel his films were ahead of their time?

Darshan told IANS: "All my films even 'Lootere' (1993)...a lot of people find that it's ahead of its time. 'Dhadkan', 'Raja Hindustani' and all these films are so popular on satellite. I think my films and their music were ahead of their time. We didn't have item music as such that time. I am so happy my films are so relevant."

"I have shot the longest kissing scene in 'Raja Hindustani' and I have done it within the framework of popular cinema. I feel most people have got one dimensional and I have done it on a multi-dimensional level without limiting myself to any type," said Darshan, whose last film "Aap Ki Khatir" released in 2006.

Any plans to make a comeback?

"I have seen the best and of course, there is this passion but let's see when. Offers are many and the day I decide to make a film, I will get back to that. I want to enjoy my craft now and I think I have proved enough," he said.
