Chief Minister Raman Singh Tuesday said his government was working honestly for the welfare of the people.
Singh was addressing a public meeting on the second day of his state-wide Vikash Yatra at Konta in Sukma district.
He said that taking the benefits of development schemes to the last person and family in the remotest village of the state and joining them with the mainstream development was his top priority.
On this occasion, he also inaugurated development projects worth around Rs.102 crore in the new district.
Singh also started the distribution of ration cards to 9,000 families of the district under Chhattisgarh Food Security Act. He also gave a bonus totalling Rs.12.09 crore to 59,760 members of 26 Forest Produce Cooperative Committees engaged in Tendu leaf collection for the year 2012.
Singh, who is heading the BJP government in the state since December 2003, also distributed smartcards and solar study lamps to school students and gave agriculture kits to farmers and bicycles and sewing machines to women workers of the unorganised sector.
Singh will travel to 81 of state's total 90 constituencies in a six-phased Vikash Yatra, which concludes June 20.
Political analysts say that Singh will try to woo voters during his yatra for scoring a hat-trick in the assembly polls scheduled later this year.
