My son has potential to become a star: Anil Sharma

Filmmaker Anil Sharma's son Utkarsh is all set to make his Bollywood entry again with the film "Genius" and his father says he has all the potential to become an actor and a star.

Elaborating about his son's debut, Anil Sharma told IANS: "Utkarsh will soon make his foray in Bollywood. From a director's point of view, he is one of those rare intelligent actors who not only understands the craft but also explores his credentials and strives to deliver nothing but the best."

"The reason behind his launch is not that he is my son but the fact that he has the potential to become an actor and then a star," he added.

From "Shradhanjali" (1981) to "Singh Sahab the Great" (2013), Anil has redefined mainstream commercial cinema and also has been the only director in Bollywood who has launched several Bollywood actresses including Priyanka Chopra, who later became well known.

Utkarsh played the role of onscreen son of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in "Gaddar: Ek Prem Katha". The movie which was released in 2001 garnered many awards and appreciation.

Now, almost after a decade Utkarsh will be launched by his father Anil again.

"Genius" directed by Anil, will go on floors from November.
