Nanny gangraped by four intruders in Bengal, two arrested

A woman working as a nursemaid was allegedly gangraped by four men in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, police said on Friday.

The incident took place in Habra's Maslandapur, around 60 km from Kolkata.

"The four accused knocked on the door of a house where the woman used to work as a nanny and asked for some water in the early hours of Thursday. Once the door was opened, they forcibly got in and gangraped the woman", an officer from Habra police station said.

The grandson of the house owner was also allegedly beaten up by the intruders.

The victim woman fell ill after the incident and is admitted to Habra State General Hospital, police said.

Police have arrested two of the four suspects.

"We have arrested two accused Surajit Mullick and Raju Mullick on the basis of the victim's statement," police said.
