Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne on Saturday signed a new five-year contract that keeps him at the Italian football club till June 2022.
The 25-year-old local star, who has scored 16 times and provided 10 assists across all competitions this season, will reportedly earn around five million euros ($5.36 million) per season.
"The renewal is filling me with joy. I'm happy:; my childhood dream has finally come true. I must say thanks to (coach Maurizio) Sarri and my teammates if I'm recognised as a leader of this squad," Insigne said, according to Napoli's Twitter handle.
"We're on the right path. We've got the will to win for our amazing fans, for this outstanding club."
The Italian international was a reported transfer target of English clubs Arsenal and Liverpool.
