Singer Nathan Sykes admits he went through a mental breakdown when he was unable to sing following a throat surgery.

Sykes, a member of The Wanted band, went through a throat surgery and was unable to sing for a couple of months, reports dailystar.co.uk.

"I locked myself in my room for three days so I wasn't filmed for our reality show ('The Wanted Life'). It was a complete mental breakdown. I blamed it on my voice though, so it was fine. I'm okay now," said Sykes.

He underwent the surgery in April.
