Amitabha Singh's "Shortcut Safari" was screened here at Siri Fort Auditorium on the second day of the National Children's Film Festival (NCFF).

The screening was a star-studded event with Jimmy Shergill, Amitabha Singh and the entire cast of the film present on the occasion. The theatre was packed with children mostly from local schools who were enthralled by the entry of Shergill on the stage.

The film tells the tale of seven schoolchildren who lose their way while returning from a nature camp and are lost in the jungles. All alone and without the help of any adult, they discover the fascinating forests and learn values of mutual respect, team-spirit and perseverance.

Before the screening began, Shergill said: "I'm a parent myself and I understand how they feel. Even I go to my child's school and see his plays and get emotional. And I hope you all will like this film ('Shortcut Safari') because there is a big message conveyed through it. It is a great achievement for the film to be showcased at NCFF at such a short notice."

The screening's end was marked by a huge round of applause.

The 100-minute film is directed by Amitabha Singh, who has also worked on films like "Khosla Ka Ghosla" and "Chillar Party".

The festival will close Sunday with the screening of Amole Gupte's "Hawaa Hawaai" which stars Partho Gupte and Saqib Saleem.
