The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been put on alert following the massive earthquake in Nepal which was felt in most parts of India, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday.
"The NDRF is on alert. Reports are coming in from various parts of the country," Rajnath Singh told the media on the sidelines of a function here.
"We will help Nepal in every possible way," he added.
Hundreds of people were killed and many were left bloodied when the massive earthquake -- measuring a staggering 7.9 on the Richter scale -- shook Nepal and India, causing widespread devastation.
The earthquake had its epicentre in Nepal's Lamjung district, some 75 km northwest of capital Kathmandu.
