IPS officer Vivekanand Sinha was on Saturday transferred to Chhattisgarh's Maoist-affected Bastar region as its Inspector General of Police (IGP), an official statement said.

Sinha, currently the IGP of Bilaspur, is succeeded in that post by P.S. Gautam, who was currently IG (Administration) at the police headquarters, while Sundarraj P. has been divested on the additional charge of IGP, Bastar, according to an order issued by Chattisgarh government's Home Department.
