Sao Paulo, July 8 (IANS/EFE) Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano has said that he called Brazil's Neymar after the latter's injury which will sideline him for the rest of the World Cup.
"I called Neymar because I wanted to give him the best message to support him to move forward and I noticed his sadness for not being able to continue playing in his first World Cup," said Mascherano, reports Efe.
The duo play together in FC Barcelona.
Neymar got injured in Brazil's quarterfinal clash against Colombia at the Estádio Castelão in Fortaleza July 4.
