The National Human Rights Commission Tuesday asked the Delhi government to explain what caused a fire at a old age home leaving two inmates dead.
Delhi's chief secretary and commissioner of police have been asked for a detailed report in the matter within four weeks, said a NHRC official.
The centre, being run by a NGO, was housed in makeshift tents where fire broke out, killing Ramesh Chand, 60, and 27-year-old Poonam who was dumb, the comission said citing media reports.
The incident was reported late on April 3 at Vasant Kunj in south Delhi.
