Nido killing: One more arrested sent to judicial custody

One more person, arrested for the death of Arunachal Pradesh student Nido Tania, was presented before a court here Tuesday which sent him to judicial custody.

Metropolitan Magistrate Pawan Kumar sent Sunny Uppal to judicial custody till Feb 25.

Meanwhile, police informed the court that murder charges have been slapped against Uppal and other accused arrested in the case.

Pawan, Sunder and Farman were arrested Feb 3 and booked under the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for passing racist remarks against Tania.

The three were also presented before the court and sent to judicial custody after police arrested them on murder charge in the case.

The 19-year-old Tania was beaten up by shopkeepers in south Delhi's Lajpat Nagar area Jan 29 following a quarrel over his appearance and clothing. He died in a hospital the next day.
