Nigeria has appointed two coaches, Musa Cyril and Tony Ajaelu, to take charge of the national women's cricket team for an invitational tournament in Tanzania.
The appointment was a step in the right direction for the country's participation in the tournament holding from August 18 to August 24, The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) said in a statement, reported Xinhua.
The statement said Cyril would be in charge of the team and would be assisted by Ajaelu.
The coaches had served in various capacities which necessitated their being appointed for the task ahead, it added.
In a related development, the body said it has selected 15 players for the tournament after two weeks camping held to prepare the team for the event.
According to NCF the team will depart on August 16 for the tournament, which includes Nigeria, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
