There will be no Delhi tableau at this year's Republic Day parade Jan 26 owing to late submission of its proposal, officials said Wednesday.
"They (Delhi) were late this year... the proposal came well past the final date of acceptance so it was rejected," said an official of the defence ministry which organises the parade.
Delhi failed to participate in the popular trail of tableaux in 2012 as well when it celebrated 100 years as the country's capital.
Last year's Delhi tableau portrayed the city's diverse culture owing to its inhabitants coming from different backgrounds and as the country's hub for performing and fine arts.
