No impact of transport strike in Tamil Nadu

The nationwide strike called on Thursday by transport organisations did not affect normal life in Tamil Nadu.

State-owned buses plied as usual while some privately-owned buses and autorickshaws stayed away from the roads.

According to police, no untoward incident connected to the strike has been reported.

The strike has been called by the transport unions in protest against the central government's proposed law providing for stringent punishment for traffic violations.
