After back-to-back blockbusters like "Pizza", "Soodhu Kavvum" and "Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara", actor Vijay Sethupathi's latest Tamil release "Rummy" has opened to mixed reviews, but he says it has not disappointed him.

Directed by Gokul, "Rummy" is a love story set against the backdrop of 1980s. It released Jan 31 and failed to rake in the moolah.

"I had signed 'Rummy' soon after 'Pizza'. It was a very dear project and I did it for my good friend Prabhakaran (co-star in the film). I'm happy with the response to the film and I'm not upset with the mixed reviews. You can't expect the same result from all films," Vijay told IANS.

While Vijay essayed a brief role, Inigo Prabhakaran had a bigger one.

"I was aware of my role even before I signed the film. I liked my character and I didn't think of anything else before signing it. As an actor, any character that comes to me should first satisfy me and only then will I take it up," he said.

Vijay is looking forward to the release of Tamil drama "Pannaiyarum Padminiyum", which is coming out Friday.

"This is another film very close to my heart. It's made sans any commercial toppings and is strongly weaved by an emotional story. I'm really excited about it and looking forward to see the response of the audience," said Vijay.

Directed by debutant S.U Arun Kumar, "Pannaiyarum Padminiyum" is the story of an ageing landlord and his vintage Padmini car.

Vijay is currently shooting for Tamil comedy-drama "Purampokku". He will soon start working with filmmaker Seenu Ramaswamy on Tamil drama "Idam Porul Eval".
