Developmental activities in the north-eastern region are slow due to the non-completion of several projects within the stipulated time, Minister of State for the development of the north-eastern region (DoNER) Jitendra Singh told parliament Wednesday.
He said that the reasons for non-completion of projects were problems faced due to land acquisition and forest clearance, law and order and a limited working season because of the climatic conditions prevailing in the region.
Singh was asked about the developmental activities in the north-east region.
Giving details about the number of projects delayed in the region, Singh said a total of 75 projects in Arunachal Pradesh, 164 projects in Assam, 81 projects in Manipur and 60 projects among the remaining north-east states were delayed under the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources Scheme of the ministry of DoNER
