A 29-year-old woman from north-west Delhi died of dengue at Lok Nayak Jaya Prakash (LNJP) Hospital on Monday evening.
"The patient was brought to our hospital in a critical condition from a private nursing home in Mundka at 8.30 p.m. yesterday (Monday). She was very sick and could not be saved. She died within few minutes after being brought to our hospital," said Yogesh Kumar Sarin, medical superintendent, LNJP Hospital.
Though the civic bodies of Delhi have so far confirmed five deaths in the national capital, a total number of confirmed and unconfirmed deaths has gone up to at least 13, as independently verified by IANS from five major Delhi hospitals -- All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ram Manohar Lohia, Lal Bahadur Shastri, LNJP and Guru Tegh Bahadur.
The data released by the three civic corporations - North Delhi Municipal Corporation (North DMC), South DMC and East DMC - on Monday said till September 12, the number of deaths due to dengue has been five and total dengue cases have gone up to 1,872.
