German forward Dirk Nowitzki will stay with the Dallas Mavericks for three more years, the NBA franchise announced.

The three-year deal is said to be worth of $25 million, reports Xinhua.

Nowitzki, NBA's Most Valuable Player in 2007 when the Mavericks won a team-record 67 regular-season games, averaged 21.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists over 80 games last season for Dallas.

The 12-time NBA All-Star helped the Mavericks to the 2011 NBA title.

The 36-year-old will start his 17th season in the league.
