The Odisha government on Monday sanctioned 23 projects entailing expenditure of around Rs 236 crore under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yojana (RKVY).
A total of 26 proposals totalling Rs 250 crore expenditure were examined at a state-level Sanctioning Committee meeting of the RKVY under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.
The approved projects relate to agriculture, fisheries, irrigation, food production, livestock development and allied activities.
The major projects sanctioned included increasing irrigation potential through individually owned borewells and cluster micro river lift points, popularisation of modern agricultural equipment, surveillance and monitoring of common diseases in ducks, livestock support services at farmers' doorsteps, strengthening cashew nurseries and promotion of intensive shrimp farming.
