Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allocate fund for the early construction of the National Institute of New Energy and Innovation at Bhubaneswar.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister said the state government is committed to provide the necessary infrastructure support for this landmark project.
He said the state government has allocated land free of cost in Bhubaneswar for the proposed institute to be established by Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
"I, therefore, request you to take up early construction of the National Institute of New Energy and Innovation at Bhubaneswar by allocating necessary funds for the purpose so as to enable the institute to start its activities at the earliest," said Patnaik.
