Odisha on Saturday urged the Centre to include its rich Buddhist heritage within the National Buddhist Circuit to boost the state's tourism potential.
State tourism secretary L.N. Gupta requested union Tourism Secretary Vinod Zutshi to consider inclusion of the famous hills of Ratnagiri-Lalitgiri-Udaygiri and their environs that comprise a remarkable Buddhist complex, and the Dhauli hills.
Zutshi held a review meeting on the tourism potential of the state.
He assured all possible support from the ministry for promotion and development of tourism in the state.
Zutshi advised the state tourism department to participate in the China Travel Mart scheduled to take place in November to showcase Odisha's Buddhist treasures, thereby attracting tourists to the state.
