One person was killed and two others injured on Tuesday when a businessman here opened fire at them after they allegedly attacked him, police said.
Charanjit Singh was killed and two others injured when businessman Ranjit Singh fired at them from his licensed pistol in Narwal area here.
"Ranjit Singh has alleged that he was attacked by three persons including Charanjit Singh with a sharp-wedged weapon and opened fired in self defence," a police officer said, adding that the businessman was arrested after an FIR was lodged in the incident.
The injured persons are being treated in the hospital, police said.
