One more bootlegger has been arrested in connection with the killing of a constable attached to the excise department, police said Monday.
Ravinder alias Rabban, 32, was arrested from his hideout in Delhi.
Police earlier arrested Pawan while his other accomplices are on the run.
Constable Vinod Kumar, 48, died of his injuries Dec 28 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences here after being beaten by a group of bootleggers on the night of Dec 27 in the forest of Ghitorni near the Vasant Kunj area of south Delhi.
According to police, the incident took place around 1.45 a.m. when Kumar, along with constable Sokhinder and two civilians, Pawan and Mukesh, reached the place while chasing two bootleggers who were carrying liquor in their car.
A group of 10-12 men surrounded Kumar and his colleagues and started hurling stones at them. Though Kumar's colleagues managed to flee, he was caught and beaten to death.
The Delhi government Monday announced Rs.1 crore compensation to the family of the constable.
