Opposition disrupts J&K Assembly proceedings
Opposition National Conference (NC) legislators on Friday disrupted the state Assembly demanding a statement from Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on cross-border firing on the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB).
Senior NC leaders, Mian Altaf and Ali Muhammad Sagar, spoke about their demands as soon as the proceedings started.
They protested against death of a woman killed in a Pakistan ceasefire violation in Mendhar area of Poonch district on Thursday.
The members sought the Speaker's intervention asking Mehbooba to make a statement on the continuing shelling and firing on the borders.
