Over 17 killed in fire in China

Over 17 people were killed in a fire in south China's Guangdong Province, Xinhua news agency reported citing local authorities Friday.

The fire broke out around 1.51 p.m. Thursday in a warehouse on the fourth floor of a small merchandise wholesale market in Huidong county.

The fire was brought under control by 7.35 p.m., the county government said in a statement.
