Veteran film actor and BJP's MP from Mathura Hema Malini on Friday said she was "deeply pained" at a child's death in a road accident involving her car on the Jaipur-Agra national highway.
In a statement, she expressed "deep sorrow over the accident" and that she is "deeply pained by the death of an innocent child".
"I am aware that what the family must be going through after the loss of their daughter," said Hema Malini who is still in a hospital here.
"In this hour of sorrow, I pray to Lord Shri Krishna to give strength to the family to bear this shock," she said.
She also prayed for speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.
Hema Malini was injured near Dausa, over 50 km from here, on Thursday evening when her car rammed into another car coming from the opposite direction, leaving a two-year-old child in that vehicle dead and four others injured.
