The Pakistan Army Sunday violated ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, an official said, adding that the Indian Army retaliated suitably.
"The Pakistan Army fired at our positions using small arms and automatic weapons in Hamirpur area of the of LoC today (Sunday)," defence spokesman Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS here.
"Pakistan firing started at 8.30 a.m. Our troops retaliated with similar calibre weapons," he said.
The spokesman said no casualty or damage on our side has been reported so far in the firing in Rajouri district.
In a separate incident, Pakistan Rangers opened fire at Border Security Force (BSF) posts on the international border in R.S. Pura area of Jammu district Sunday.
The army guards the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, while the paramilitary forces, the BSF and the rangers, from the two sides guard the international border in the state.
