Taking note of rising instances of hate attacks against Muslims around the world, the Pakistan Foreign Office on Thursday said "terrorism has nothing to do with Islam".
Maintaining that Islam is a religion of peace and brotherhood, Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said Muslims were facing issues across the globe following the November 13 Paris attacks, Radio Pakistan reported.
At least 129 people were killed in coordinated terror attacks on November 13 at six places in Paris, claimed by the militant group Islamic State.
Following the attacks, incidence of Islamophobic hate crime has spiked. In Britain, a 300 percent increase in hate crime targeting Muslims was registered in the week following the attacks.
Following the Paris attacks, France stepped up its air campaign against IS in Iraq as well as Syria, where Russia is also targeting the militant group in air strikes while backing a campaign for President Bashar al-Assad.
