Pakistan is set to push for foreign secretary level talks during the meeting of the national security advisers (NSA) of Islamabad and New Delhi over the weekend.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met his core committee on Monday to mull over what to keep on the agenda of the NSA talks and what to leave for the foreign secretaries.

The session was attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister's Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and his Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, the Pakistani media reported.

Aziz will visit New Delhi on August 23 to meet the Indian NSA, Ajit Doval. The August 23-24 meeting follows an agreement between Sharif and Indian Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi in Russia last month.
